We pay royalties to all authors featured in our printed zines. Unfortunately, we are unable to extend this offer of payment for work solely featured online but if we can find a way to change this in the future, we’ll let you know.
We’ll pay an author royalty fee of 20%* for every zine sold. This fee will be shared among all contributing authors featured within the publication. We’re a small outfit and we’re not going to help you to retire, but every little helps.
Zines will have a maximum cover price of £5 for print copies and £3 for digital downloads.
Royalties will be paid bi-annually, in the first weeks of January and July respectively.
All contributing authors will receive one complimentary copy – royalties will not be paid on these copies.
10 copies of each zine will be set aside for promotion and reviews – royalties will not be paid on these copies. Where applicable, we will distribute free digital copies to gain reviews or for promotional purposes. These editions will not be available for a sale and so no royalties will be paid on these copies.
All contributing authors will automatically receive a 10% discount on any future zines purchased.
Any author submitting work for consideration, either for the website or a printed zine, will also automatically receive a 10% discount on any future zines purchased. In short, anyone who has ever taken the time to submit their writing to us can claim a 10% discount.
* This percentage has been reduced to ensure future issue can break even. The original royalty fee of 25% will be honoured for all authors included in ‘One’.
